Weekend

Our weekend has been great! I joined a bunco group with some friends a year ago and it has been so fun. We decided, though, to drop the actual playing of bunco and just do a GNO every month. Friday night Kristen had it at her house with Sara hosting. Fun times! I really have grown to love these girls... a lot... and am already looking forward to the next month. I always leave rejuvenated and wanting to be a better person/mom. I think that should be a requirement for mom's.. that we get to "get out" AT LEAST once a month... It's very refreshing. Thanks girls for making me feel that way!

Also.. great news... I finally (after 3 long years of working EVERY Saturday) don't have to work Saturday's anymore! Wahoo! I slept in until 7:30 AM which is "sleeping in" with little Hank but it's better than working so I will take it!

Today.. major meltdown at church with the sassy one. Screaming, crying. She was upset because she wanted a green pen to color with. Well, we didn't have a green pen and she let the WHOLE ward know it! I took her out of sacrament.. screaming, kicking, hitting.. 3 different mom's came out with green pen's for her. :) I love our ward. She got her green pen and was ok for a little bit, but lost it again. Luckily I didn't have to teach yw's so I came home early and within 1/2 hour this is what I found:

Sound asleep.. what an awesome afternoon I am going to have all to myself (Hank's asleep too)! Can't wait to catch up on some reading from this great book... I just gotta find something for Danny to do... so I don't have to entertain him.. I'm sure there is a good Sci-Fi show on... "Snakes on a Plane"... something really awesome like that. ;) He is such a sucker for those shows!

Look at my handsome cheese ball.

Our "Love" Day

Valentine's day is a fun day but not really a big deal in our household. I like Valentine's day though...don't get me wrong. I will milk any holiday that I can. But, it's just funny. We express our love to our loved ones just 1 day... does it mean that I get to be nasty the other 364 days?? I think we should express love to all those we love all the time.. just my opinion though. Danny is always the best on Valentines day. He really knows how to go aaalll out (HEAVY sarcasm.) When we were dating, we celebrated 1 year on a double date with Jared and Ang. They bought us Wendy's and served us sparkling cider with their shirts off and bow tie's. Last year, he was a hopeless romantic and bought me (really himself and Whit) a turtle. 3 years ago he thought that I would LOVE fake flowers so he bought me fake roses and printed a fake $100 bill saying "Lets go on a trip".. that never happened. Now 2 years ago was the best... he actually had the nerve to get the fake flowers (that he bought me the year before) out of our garage and re- gifted them to me. They were still dusty from spending a year in the garage!! Seriously, Danny!

This year was perfect, though. He did get me real flowers (he will never make that mistake again) and when I got done working that night, all the lights were off, some good 80's love music was on, and Whit was sitting at the table pouring herself Diet Coke into a champagne glass. :) She cracks me up! We enjoyed my favorite meal.. Little Caesar's Pizza with crazy bread.. and danced with our kids in the candle light. Oh and to top it off.. Danny bought me some very nice and expensive Ralph Lauren perfume.. from the Dollar Store. :)

Whit decorating the table for me. Mo.. hiding under the table just waiting for someone to drop him some food.

We decided to do some Valentine's for a few of Whit's friends this year. They said "Pucker Up" and we gave her friends a little lapstick and lip candy. Whit had so much fun delivering the valentines and giving her friends her favorite thing... lapsticks of course! She would knock on the door and then run as fast as she could back to the car. I seriously love her.

Blogging

My blog really is one of my journals. Our family journal. I do have a personal/scripture journal as well but well... that's personal. I got the cute idea of printing my blog from this cute girl and decided to do it. I printed our whole blog and loved it! I will print it every year and print 2 copies. One for Hank and one for Whitney. I think it is such an easy way to scrapbook/ journal about our life. So some of my posts will be random and filled with lots of pictures but honestly.. my blog is for my kids and my family and I think one of the most effective ways of remembering the past is viewing it through pictures. I love my kids and I don't want to forget the silly cute things they do. So Scrap booking has gone out the window for me.. and blogging has taken it's place. It is so much easier to take 5 minutes, do a quick post and add pictures. I may be blogging a lot more and they may be filled with boring posts, random day to day things, or lots of pictures.. but in 20 years from now, I'm sure my kids will love having this journal to look back at and that's really all that matters. :)

18 lbs

I took Hank into the doctor a couple of days ago.. convinced that he had some sort of ailment.. the snotty nose, deep cough, ear infection- turns out he just has a cold. I felt kinda stupid, there were SO many other sick kids. After waiting 45 minutes in our exam room while our doctor was with other patients when he did finally get to us.. our exam got interrupted by another doctor who needed a second opinion on some sort of "snot" mixture from another kid.. yikes. Grateful that it was just a cold, we hurried up and left before we REALLY did get something worse. But we did discover a little something.. cute little Hanky boy is quite the chunk.. weighing in at a little over 18 lbs at 5 1/2 months. BIG BOY! I love it, though. He is going to be a bruiser like is papa. Cute guy.
