Father's Day 2011

Every day I count my blessings for the wonderful father's in my life.
Both our children are named after great men who helped raise us.
Whitney after my dad, Harold after Danny's step- dad.
SOO dad's are pretty important to us. :)
I couldn't be more happy with the awesome dad that Danny is.
He is pretty amazing.

Liberty Park

Liberty Park is so fun! We went last week and had a blast. There is so much to do. I will let the picture's do the telling: :)

Me and Whit went on the ferris wheel. She honestly couldn't stop laughing and kept saying: "this is so much fun!" I love her energy and zeal for life .

The crew

Driggs was so cute in the cars. He was a little nervous to do the "no hands."

The planes. I loved how old fashioned everything was.

Liberty park has the 7 rivers water fountains and the kids had such a blast playing in it. Whitney doesn't like me taking pictures and refuses to smile in about 75% of them.

My aunt Cookie and Steve Hart hosted a farewell party a couple of weeks ago for my other aunt and uncle, Jim and Laurel Hart. They got called as mission presidents to the Brazil Salvador mission. They had their farewell speeches yesterday and did such a great job. What an awesome experience they are going to have!

Swimwear..

J Crew

J Crew

Anthropologie

Anthropologie

Aren't these swimsuits amazing?? My favorite is the black and the light blue { or the proper color is mint.} I asked Danny if I could get one and he said, "Sure, why don't you get it for yourself for father's day." How selfish would that be.. Well a girl can dream at least.

Fresh Orange Cookies

I came upon this yummy recipe a loonngg time ago through Danny's mom, Vicki. She made these cookies before we were even married and I thought that they were so good. I have made them a couple of times since and decided to make them again a couple of weeks ago. They were as good as I had remembered them! Light and airy.. different.. and a fun summer time treat. My handy helper, Whitney, is ALWAYS by my side and is becoming quite the little cook. She is a pro at cracking eggs and can do it all by herself! She gets out all the ingredients and knows what is what. She "cracks" me up... no pun intended. ;)

Enjoy:

Fresh Orange Cookies:
1 1/2 C sugar
1 C butter, softened
1 C sour cream
2 eggs
4 C flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2/3 C fresh orange juice
3 tbs grated orange peel (about 3 oranges)

Frosting:
1 cube butter, melted
4 C powdered sugar
2 tbs orange zest
4-5 tbs fresh orange juice

*Heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine sugar and 1 c butter; beat until light and fluffy. Add sour cream and eggs, blend well. Mix in orange juice and orange peel. Add all remaining cookie ingredients. {The dough will be sticky. Use an ice cream scoop to put onto cookie sheet.}
*Bake for 11 to 13 minutes. {I baked mine for 10 and they turned out perfect.}
*Make the frosting and frost when the cookies have been cooled.

My taste tester, Hank. He loved them!

9 Months

Picture taken by Jenny.

Weight: 20 lb 6 oz
Height: 28.1 inches

What we are up to/doing at 9 months:

*Had your first hair cut.
*You love to stand on anything and walk.
*Great eater and sleeper.
*No teeth yet, but you gnaw on pretty much anything we eat.
*Getting really close to crawling, but in the meantime you manage to get where you need to go by scooting on your bum.
*You are Whit's best friend and play mate. You will do anything for her, but you are starting to fight back and claim what's yours. I love it! :)
*According to your dad, your greatest accomplishment thus far is palming a little football. He is so proud of his little athlete!!

We love you lots my blue eyed blonde baby boy!! You are my sweetest most tender little man.
